Chris Fix takes good care of his cars. Here he has the oil of his 1995 Ford Windstar, happens to have 292,000 miles on its engine, tested to see what we can learn about the modern engine that is treated with respect. ChrisFix has been the sole owner of this vehicle so he knows that it still has its original engine. The last oil change the car had was 8,000 miles previously. Blackstone Laboratories tested the oil sample and discovered coolant in the oil, high levels of lead which is from the bearings and high copper levels as well. Blackstone recommended that Chris start changing his Windstar’s engine oil every 4,000 miles and that he keep an eye on oil pressure and coolant levels. Ultimately, we learn that this engine can keep on chugging along since it is only suffering from some wear that is to be expected in any engine with 300,000 miles.
